My Story

To begin, I have always loved chocolate, and I especially love dark chocolate. Not surprisingly (at least to me), most of my friends and family love chocolate as well. Another love I have is to give handmade gifts. They do not have to be made by me, but I have found that handmade gifts are among the most thoughtful gifts I’ve received. It takes thought and effort to find or create a handmade gift for someone. So, I thought I’d try to make chocolates to give as gifts. Thus, my chocolate truffles were born.

I added chocolate-dipped strawberries to my repertoire and soon had a tradition of giving plates or ribbon tied boxes of these truffles and strawberries as gifts to many friends and family. I have so thoroughly enjoyed giving these gifts and I thought others may enjoy giving these as well. Thus, “Truffles by Marie” was born. These are the perfect gift for birthdays, holidays, hostess gift, thank-you, and my favorite, just because.
